Frequently Asked Questions

Why Soy?

Soy wax is completely natural and burns much cooler and cleaner than paraffin wax, therefore, prolonging the burn time of your candle. Soy wax also has a very long shelf life, with candles lasting for over 5 years. Soy wax is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic - a perfect choice for those who wish to burn environmentally friendly candles.

Are the wicks non-toxic too?

We use two types of wicks in our candles:

  • Cotton wicks - these are made using natural fibres, they contain no lead or any other harmful metals, and are completely non-toxic.

  • Wood wicks - these are made from natural cedar wood, and are also completely non-toxic. The wooden wicks create a soothing crackle noise when burning, just like a wood fire.

Why is there a black residue around the candle vessel?

If there is a black residue around your candle vessel, this means that your wick is too long and needs to be trimmed. Your candle wick should always be trimmed to 5mm before lighting your candle. Please ensure that you allow your candle to cool and solidify before trimming the wick or moving the candle. To remove the black residue, simply use a damp paper towel to wipe your candle clean.

How should I put out my candle?

We strongly recommend using one of our candle snuffers for putting out your candles. These have been created to ensure that you do not burn yourself or spill any wax when putting out your candle. If you do not have a candle snuffer, simply blow the candle out (very gently, to ensure wax does not spill).

Why is there wax left around the edge of my candle?

Please ensure that each time you burn your candle, you allow it to melt all the way to the edges. This prevents 'tunnelling', and will prolong the lifetime of your candle.

What are your most popular fragrances?

All of our fragrances have been very carefully selected, so we think they are all amazing! But if you need some help choosing, our four top selling fragrances are:

  • Champagne + Wild Berries

  • Coconut Lime Punch

  • Lime, Basil + Mandarin

  • Pomegranate, Sweet Orange + Acai

How can I re-use my candle vessel once it has finished its burn time?

We have created all of our candles to ensure that the vessel can be used after the candle has completed its burn time. All of our vessels can be up-cycled, whether it be as a vase, a canister in your bathroom or kitchen, a tea light holder, or simply as a decorative piece in your home. Show us how you re-use your candle vessel by tagging us in your social media photos!
